A Baby Boy Is On His Way! Chic Baby Shower in Boston

Planning baby showers is one of Elegant Aura’s favorite types of events to plan. As wedding planners, we create such a special bonds with our couples during the wedding planning process, that our relationship continues into other celebrations in their lives. What better way to continue that relationship, than to help couples plan their baby showers.

We were in heaven creating this sophisticated and chic baby shower-styled shoot at The Tannery Loft. The inspiration was to play off of the industrial architecture and incorporate the color palette of the carousel horse in baby blue, soft gray, pale ivory and hints of mint green to complement the glow of our mother-to-be.

Our model and first-time mother-to-be, Amanda, was absolutely glowing in a white floor-length gown and soft updo by Ashlie Lynell Hair and makeup by Joelle Beauty Bar. Amanda kept her jewelry simple and wore a family heirloom cross necklace. Her look was enhanced with a lush floral crown by Whitemoss & Twigs.

The welcome and lounge areas were designed to be sophisticated yet playful and rich. Vintage décor and furnishings from Kadeema Rentals set the stage, while whimsical accents like a life-size carousel horse, pom-pom garland, and a custom designed balloon arch anchored the spaces.

For our styled table, we designed simple and classic place settings. The table features PEAK Event Services’ Ibiza Sky Napkins, Cheerful White China and Chargers, Arezzo Gold flatware which paired beautifully with their sleek Indigo glassware and our own vintage champagne coupes. The table was complete with Kadeema Rental's vintage specialty décor furniture. To finish the tabletop, a delicate and organic floral centerpiece by the talented Whitemoss & Twigs features white tulips that were hand-dipped and dyed baby-blue.

The vision for the dessert area was to pair a vivid palette with classic and elegant desserts. The cake, designed by the lovely Casey Lyn Cakes, included texture and color by adding spatula-painted icing and gold foil flecks over smoothed icing. The cake was topped with a fondant carousal horse and a small grouping of florals. A tower of colorful French macarons and a “mom-o-sa” bar added sparkle and fun.
