Boho Chic Spring Wedding at The Commons 1854

Black and white photo of bride and groom first look

This boho-chic spring wedding in Boston all started in an elevator.  It’s true, Kimberly and Richard met in an elevator!  (We’ll just leave it at that).  Their faith is a strong common bond.  They described their vision to be modern, non-traditional, entertaining, cool and trendy.  Being married and exchanging their vows privately was important to the couple.  They also wanted to be sure their guests had fun, danced a lot and enjoyed dinner.

WEDDING DETAILS

When asked what their wedding colors are, the bride replies, “no color”!  They simply like black and white with gold accents.  Using black bengaline linen for the reception tables, and black sequins for the sweetheart table definitely set the tone for a non-traditional and chic wedding.  We actually hoped for a cloudy day to keep the reception space dark and intimate, and let the amber up-lights and tons of floating candles create a warm ambiance.  This vision came to life at the charming Commons 1854 in Topsfield, MA.

They also included close friends into their wedding ceremony.   A singing duo accompanied by a guitarist performed during the exchanging of vows.  Kimberly and Richard took a few steps back from the ceremony spot to read their vows to one another.  It was the most intimate and romantic exchange we’ve ever seen!

Bouquets and other flower decor were designed with an architectural feel. The reception tables included white orchids immersed in glass cylinders with white floating candles. Both sweetheart tables (yes, there were 2!) were decorated with simple greens and white floral accents. The second sweetheart table was set on the mezzanine level. The couple retreated there to enjoy their entrées in private. An idea which we absolutely love!

They certainly got their “fun”, with a packed dance floor thanks to amazing DJ Charles of CZone. He played all the songs chosen specifically by the groom.
