A Winter Wedding at The State Room in Boston
Planning a winter wedding at The State Room in Boston can be challenging because of the unpredictable weather. On the other hand, it can be romantic.
THE WEDDING COUPLE
We started working with Celine and Alex just a few short months prior to their wedding. They had many vendors secured already but needed help with remaining details and managing their wedding day. Even with 150 guests, the wedding was still intimate.
They met at the same church where they both attended, so having a joyful and blessed day was important to the couple. With a tight-knit community, many of their church friends played a part in their wedding day. Their ceremony and reception took place at the State Room, where they looked forward to bringing their family and friends together for a great party. They wanted a classic and elegantly-styled look using warm whites and accents of gold and silver. We kept the space feeling cozy by including uplighting in a warm, amber tone.
BRIDE AND GROOM FIRST LOOK ON ACORN STREET
Even though Celine and Alex’s wedding was in February, they braved the Boston winter temperatures to have a First Look on Beacon Hill with the famous, Acorn Street, as their backdrop. Starting the ceremony early gave their guests lots of daylight views of Boston looking through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the State Room.
Some of the collaboration from their friends were the invitations designed and produced by Alex’s Best Man; the photographer is a friend from church; another friend, a professional opera singer, performed during the ceremony and cocktail hour; and the florist, another church member.
I enjoyed Celine’s cheeky spin on their faux First Look. Her nickname for Alex is “panda,” so she found panda eye masks to cover his face!
